Disruptive Pedagogy

Disruptive Pedagogy is 21Common’s approach to arts-based learning is founded on fundamental principles guided by a social practice.

In this case social practice within an education system which organises and understands systems of oppression in order to transform them. We do this through the mantle of life experience and an ability to use the possibilities of the arts to create a process and product that authentically values learning as a tool for change and development.
We support primary school pupils at their own pace, responding to their requirements and areas of interest as well as sharing our own experiences and enquiries. We create an alternative curriculum based learning structure that works in tandem with the Curriculum for Excellence but does not narrow the field of learning outcomes at the end of a process.
